Give a Flower on Geranium Sunday!
In 1997, a garden was planted by the church school children to honor the work of a beloved Sunday School teacher and choir leader, Eleanor Edwards. This is the beautiful garden of annuals and perennials under the dogwood trees beside the church. Since that time, each spring, we have held “Geranium Sundays” to raise the funds needed to purchase flowers, mulch, fertilizer, etc. to maintain the gardens of United Church.
This year, our Geranium Sundays will be held on May 4th and 11th, a musical Jazz Sunday and Mother’s Day. Could the time be more perfect for recognizing the gifts of flowers and music and caring for our youth, than these Sundays in May?? Honor a teacher or a mother- and Eleanor Edwards- by making a contribution to the Eleanor Edwards Garden Fund, giving the gift of beautiful flowers for all of the church gardens!
Look for the Geranium table in Bradford Lewis Hall.
Also, those whose thumbs are even modestly green are welcome to help with on-going care of the gardens. Contact the church office if you would like to spend a little time, throughout the spring, summer, and fall months, in the gardens of United Church.
