Our Pastor and Staff

The Reverend Ray Kostulias, Senior Pastor
Ray began his service as the settled pastor for the United Church in Walpole on September 5, 2006 after serving his former church in New Jersey for twenty years. Ray received his Master of Divinity degree in 1978 from Union Theological Seminary in New York. Prior to that Ray had earned both a Bachelor’s degree and a Master’s degree in Theater and Drama from the City College of New York.
Building on this unique background in theater and drama, Ray is the author of two books of dramatic biblical monologues: Character Witnesses: Dramatic Monologues for Christmas and Easter, and I Witness: Dramatic Monologues Based on Hebrew Scripture.
Ray has been involved with many ecumenical and UCC Conference activities over the years including his position as president of the board of the county Habitat for Humanity, an Inter-religious Fellowship for the Homeless; president of a regional Community Counseling Service and member of the board of directors of an AIDS Interfaith Network in New Jersey.
Ray is very close to his two grown daughters, one living in New York City, the other in Cumberland, Rhode Island. Ray is also the very proud grandfather of his first grandchild, born on April 30, 2006.
